Crime Scene Specialists, Inc. is a forensic training and consulting company. The Owner, H.W. "Rus" Ruslander has been in Law Enforcement and Forensics since January, 1969. "Rus" spent the first 23 years as a Prince George's County, Maryland police officer. After retiring, he relocated to south Florida where he was the crime scene supervisor and latent print examiner for the Lake Worth Police Department. He left Lake Worth and worked as a crime scene investigator and crime analyst for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office before becoming the chief investigator for the Palm Beach County Medical Examiners Office.

"Rus" holds 3 specialty certifications thru the International Association for Identification, 1 thru the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators and 1 from E.P.I.C.

"Rus" is a Florida CJSTC certified law enforcement instructor and has taught classes throughout the United States. He has authored in excess of 20 articles pertaining to forensics that have been published in numerous magazines, the World Wide Web and journals.

"Rus" is a member of the IAI, the FDIAI, the FOP, American Legion, CBDIAI, FAME, IABPA, ACSR and ABMDI.
